Consistency total needed = Best Day ÷ 50% (1-Step) or ÷ 30% (Instant). Instant Max Loss Limit = max(highest closed balance, account size) − 10% of account size; the 110% line = 110% of size. Futures max request = smallest of (50% or 100%) × profit, the cap, and 2 × new profit. Room after a request is shown only when profit ≥ the drawdown (floor locked). The short answer

On every FTMO account you can reach a 90% share (2-Step via the Scaling Plan or Prime), the minimum payout is $20 by bank wire or card, and a CFD Reward can be claimed from the 14th day after the first trade.

Different:

  • Split: 2-Step 80% until Scaling or Prime; 1-Step, Instant and Futures 90% from the first payout.
  • When: CFD from the 14th day after the first trade on that account. Futures after 4 Qualifying Days of $150+ (Growth 50K) or 5 of $200+ (Pro 50K) in each cycle.
  • Consistency at payout: none on 2-Step and Futures Sim-Funded. Best day ≤50% on 1-Step, ≤30% on Instant (restarts after each Reward). Going over delays the payout but isn't a breach.
  • Max Loss: 2-Step static; 1-Step fully resets; Instant never resets, and above 110% of the start FTMO says a withdrawal breaches. Futures locks at initial capital, and FTMO warns that a full Pro withdrawal can violate it.
  • Fee: only 2-Step refunds it (100%, with the first Reward) and allows rollover. Futures' subscription stops when you pass.
  • Per request: no CFD cap stated. Futures Growth 50% up to $2,500 (50K), Pro 100% up to $5,000, and at least half of each request must be new profit.

Pick CFD if you trade CFDs. 2-Step if you want the fee back and rollover and can accept 80% until the Scaling Plan (4 months, 10% net, 2 Rewards) or Prime; 1-Step if you want 90% from the first Reward and a Max Loss that resets after each one, at the cost of a non-refundable fee and a 50% best-day rule; Instant only if skipping the evaluation is worth a non-refundable fee, a 30% rule, no Scaling or Prime, and a Max Loss that never resets.

Pick Futures if you trade futures and want no consistency rule once funded: Growth ($119 a month at 50K) for 50% per request up to $2,500 after 4 Qualifying Days of $150+; Pro ($139) for up to 100% and a $5,000 cap after 5 days of $200+, leaving a cushion above the locked floor. You pay monthly until you pass; there is no refund, and no fee after.

Futures Sim-Funded pays after 4 Qualifying Days on Growth (50% of profit, $2,500 cap on 50K) or 5 Qualifying Days on Pro (100%, $5,000 cap). A Qualifying Day cycle can run longer than 4 or 5 trading days when a day falls under the threshold.

Reward ratio by product and how 2-Step gets to 90%

FTMO's withdrawal FAQ sets the Reward Ratio by product. An FTMO Account initiated from the 1-Step FTMO Challenge and the FTMO Instant Account pay 90% of the simulated profit. An FTMO Account from the 2-Step FTMO Challenge pays 80% by default, rising to 90% once the Scaling Plan or Premium Programme conditions are met, which is why the comparison table lists 2-Step as 'Up to 90%'. FTMO Futures runs a 90/10 Payout Ratio on both Growth and Pro Sim-Funded Accounts: FTMO's example is a $2,000 request paying $1,800 after the cap and other payout conditions are applied. The Swing account type, available only on 2-Step, changes leverage from 1:100 to 1:30 and lifts news and holding restrictions.

What this means for you: 1-Step, Instant and Futures pay 90% from the first payout; 2-Step needs Scaling or Prime to get there.

When you can request a Reward on a CFD account

You claim a Reward in the Account MetriX on the 14th or any following day after the first trade is placed on the specific account, with all open positions and pending orders closed. FTMO then reviews the account and notifies you within 1-2 business days; once approved you submit the withdrawal details in the FTMO Traders section and the Reward is typically sent 1-2 business days after the invoice is approved. FTMO's Swing FAQ says a new account is provided after each phase and after each Reward withdrawal, so in practice each new account's 14-day count starts from its first trade; FTMO does not describe a fixed payout cycle. On the Instant Account your results count toward the Reward from day one, you complete FTMO Identity (KYC) when you request the first Reward, processing waits for that approval, and you become an FTMO Trader once the first Reward is approved. For comparison, 1-Step can be passed in as few as 2 trading days and 2-Step needs at least 4 trading days in each phase, with reviews of 1-2 business days after the FTMO Challenge and 1-4 business days after Verification or the 1-Step phase. Methods are bank wire, Visa Direct or Mastercard Send up to $20,000, Skrill up to $3,000 and cryptocurrencies, with no FTMO commission; the minimum closed profit is $20 for bank wire and card transfers and $50 for crypto.

What this means for you: Plan your first CFD Reward for day 14 or later, flat, and allow for review and invoice time.

Consistency and Max Loss traps when withdrawing

2-Step has no Consistency rule. On 1-Step accounts initiated from orders created on or after 12 Oct 2026, or any accounts merged on or after this date, the Consistency rule requires your Best Day to be no more than 50% of total profit, where total profit is the cumulative sum of closed profits and losses across all days; accounts from earlier orders keep the legacy Best Day Rule, 50% of Positive Days' Profit, and the 1-Step product page still labels the objective 'Best Day Rule 50%' while the comparison table already says Consistency 50%. The Instant Account uses 30% of total profit, and when you withdraw a Reward and continue on an FTMO Account your total profit starts again from zero, so Consistency is measured only after the Reward withdrawal. Exceeding the limit is not a breach; you keep trading until the ratio is met. FTMO's example: Day 1 $6,000, Day 2 a $2,000 loss, Day 3 $4,000, Day 4 $2,000 gives $10,000 total with a 60% Best Day, so total profit must reach at least $12,000 on 1-Step or $20,000 on Instant if Day 1 stays the best day. Max Loss matters too. 2-Step is static at 10% of initial capital (comparison table: Max Loss type Static). 1-Step is an end-of-day trailing 10% limit (comparison table: Trailing on Balance (End of day)) that fully resets to 90% of initial capital when a Reward is withdrawn and a new FTMO Account is provided. Instant is an intraday, balance-based trailing 10% limit (comparison table: Trailing on Balance (Intraday)) that does not reset on withdrawal: once your balance exceeds 110% of initial capital, a Reward withdrawal would breach the limit. FTMO's $50,000 Instant example: limit before the first closed trade is $45,000; after a $50,600 close the limit becomes $45,600; after a later $50,300 close it stays $45,600. Ours: 110% of $50,000 is $55,000; at that high FTMO's formula puts the Instant limit at $50,000, the initial capital. FTMO does not say whether a partial Reward changes this. Maximum Daily Loss is 5% on 2-Step and 3% on 1-Step and Instant.

What this means for you: One big day can delay a 1-Step or Instant Reward but never fails you. On Instant, watch the 110% line.

Refund, rollover and FTMO Points

Only the 2-Step purchase fee is refundable: FTMO refunds 100% of it when you request your first Reward withdrawal, using the same payment method you paid with. The 1-Step and Instant fees are not refundable. Rollover is also 2-Step only. The standard Reward Ratio is applied before the rollover, and when you later withdraw the rolled-over Reward the ratio is 100% so it is not reduced twice; the minimum rollover is €20, $20, £20, 20 AUD, 20 CAD, 20 CHF or 500 CZK. FTMO's Prime benefits FAQ states that rollovers are not supported on 1-Step or Instant accounts. On a CFD account (2-Step, 1-Step or Instant) you can take all or part of a Reward as FTMO Points during processing; one Point equals 1 EUR, Points can only buy products or services from FTMO or its affiliates and cannot be exchanged for cash. FTMO Points are not available for FTMO Futures and cannot be applied to the subscription of Evaluation.

What this means for you: Only 2-Step refunds the fee and allows rollover. Points are FTMO credit, not cash, and not on Futures.

Scaling Plan and Premium Programme

The Scaling Plan applies to FTMO Accounts obtained through the 1-Step or 2-Step FTMO Challenge, not the Instant Account. You need at least 4 months as an FTMO Trader, or since the last scale-up, under the same order; at least 10% net simulated profit above the starting balance within the prior 4 months; at least 2 processed Rewards in that period; and a positive balance at scale-up. The account grows 25% every 4 months up to $2,000,000 across all your FTMO Accounts, and the 90% share is listed as valid for 2-Step only. The Premium Programme is separate and can run alongside it. Prime requires no failed FTMO Account in the last 4 months and at least 4 Reward cycles on accounts from the same order, each with profit of at least 4% of initial capital, assessed before the ratio is applied. Prime moves a 2-Step account from 80% to 90%, adds a 5% rollover bonus on the next 2-Step account withdrawable after 30 calendar days, raises the capital allocation to $600,000, grants a free FTMO Challenge in FTMO Points and a 10% discount; 1-Step traders already have 90% and get no rollover bonus. Supreme needs an active $400K Prime account with 3 further Reward cycles of at least 4% each (the Premium page also lists 3 months as a Prime Trader), and adds no Maximum Daily Loss, immediate reward withdrawals and a $1,000,000 allocation. The Instant Account is not eligible for either programme. FTMO's Prime qualification FAQ adds that the Reward size is assessed before the Reward Ratio is applied and that Rollover from the previous FTMO Account is not considered as additional profit.

What this means for you: Scaling and Prime reward patience on 2-Step and 1-Step; Instant gets neither.

FTMO Futures Sim-Funded payouts: Growth vs Pro by size

A payout cycle needs Qualifying Days with closed P&L above a threshold, reviewed at end of day: Growth 4 days at $150 (50K), $250 (100K) or $300 (150K); Pro 5 days at $200, $300 or $500. FTMO's comparison table summarises this as a payout every 4 days on Growth and every 5 on Pro; a day under the threshold does not count, so a cycle can run longer than 4 or 5 trading days (FTMO's Day 3 at $120 example leaves you with 3 of 4 Qualifying Days). Growth lets you request up to 50% of profit above initial capital per cycle, Pro up to 100%, and the per-request cap is $2,500 / $3,000 / $4,000 on Growth and $5,000 / $6,000 / $8,000 on Pro. Ours: profit needed for the full Growth cap under the 50% rule is $5,000 / $6,000 / $8,000. Where pages differ (h): the Growth Payout Cap examples on the objectives page say $4,000 / $4,500 / $5,500 of profit lets you request $2,500 / $3,000 / $4,000, which ignores the 50% Withdrawable Amount on the same page; under 50% those profits allow only $2,000 / $2,250 / $2,750 (ours). The page's own Withdrawable example ($4,000 → $2,000) does apply 50%. At least 50% of any request must be new profit from the current cycle: FTMO's examples are $2,000 carried over plus $400 new so the maximum request is $800 (50K); $4,000 + $800 → $1,600 (100K); $6,000 + $1,200 → $2,400 (150K). The minimum is $20 and the 90/10 ratio applies to the requested amount (FTMO's example: request $2,000, receive $1,800). Unrequested profit stays in the account and can be included later. The EOD trailing Max Drawdown ($2,000 / $3,500 / $5,000 on Growth, $3,000 / $4,500 / $6,000 on Pro) locks at the initial capital for the life of the account, and FTMO's FAQ warns that requesting a full withdrawal on a Pro Sim-Funded Account can violate it, so check the payout calculator before taking 100%. Daily loss on Sim-Funded is soft on Growth ($1,000 / $2,000 / $3,000, trading pauses for the day) and hard on Pro ($1,000 / $1,500 / $2,000, account terminated). There is no Consistency rule on Sim-Funded; it applies only in the Evaluation at 40% on Growth and 50% on Pro. You may hold up to 3 Sim-Funded Accounts, and Max Contracts scale with EOD profit milestones, for example 50K from 2 contracts to 5 at $2,000 profit, falling back if the balance drops. Monthly price at 50K is $119 on Growth and $139 on Pro; the subscription is cancelled when you pass, so neither the Sim-Funded nor the Live Funded Account carries a subscription charge, and there is no activation fee.

What this means for you: Growth pays half your profit per request at lower caps. Pro pays it all, but a full withdrawal leaves no room above the locked floor.

Futures payout methods, US paperwork and Live Funded

Confirming a request in the Client Area closes all open positions and pending orders, a calculator shows the available payout, the requested amount is deducted from the Sim-Funded balance immediately and you can resume trading while FTMO approves it; you then confirm the payout invoice. Payouts are in USD via Wise, Revolut bank wire, Visa Direct or Mastercard Send, with Mastercard Send unavailable to US clients. US-based clients must submit IRS Form W-9 before the first request and prove ownership of the receiving US bank account. After passing the Evaluation, review takes 1-3 business days, then FTMO Identity and the Sim-Funded Terms must be approved before the account is created. The Live Funded Account is not something you apply for: FTMO's Trading Department invites selected traders at its discretion, and residents of countries on FTMO's restricted list are not offered it, though the Trading Department may contact eligible traders there about other options; Sim-Funded payouts stay available to them. On Live Funded you clear a one-time buffer before the first payout, then can request a payout daily with no payout cap, the ratio stays 90/10, and a market data fee applies with one exchange covered by FTMO.

What this means for you: Sim-Funded payouts are open to every funded trader. Live Funded is by invitation, and US traders file a W-9 first.

Where FTMO's pages differ

(a) The CFD comparison table lists 2-Step Rewards as 'Up to 90%' while the withdraw FAQ states 80% by default and 90% once the Scaling Plan or Premium Programme conditions are met. (b) The 1-Step product page still shows 'Best Day Rule 50%'; Trading Objectives say Consistency replaces the Best Day Rule for orders created or merged on or after 12 Oct 2026 (Best Day ≤50% of total profit), and the comparison table already says Consistency 50%. Legacy accounts keep Best Day Rule as 50% of Positive Days' Profit. (c) The Futures FAQ 'How does your Consistency Rule work?' only lists CFD products (1-Step, Instant, 2-Step); the Futures objectives page applies 40% Growth / 50% Pro Consistency to the Evaluation. (d) The Futures overview says 'High payout caps of $5,000 and $8,000' for Pro and skips the 100K $6,000 cap. (e) Futures overview and Futures FAQ pages (withdraw, accounts, consistency) show 'Up to $450,000 in simulated capital'; the accounts FAQ also says there is no maximum total capital allocation and the limit is the maximum number of Sim-Funded Accounts (3 × 150K = $450,000, ours). (f) The Instant product marketing strip shows Consistency 30% without the MetriX restart-after-Reward detail that only Trading Objectives spells out. (g) The withdraw FAQ warns that the Instant Max Loss Limit does not reset; only Trading Objectives give the 110% of Initial Simulated Capital arithmetic. (h) On the Futures objectives page, Growth Payout Cap examples ($4,000 / $4,500 / $5,500 profit → request $2,500 / $3,000 / $4,000) ignore the 50% Withdrawable Amount on the same page; under 50% those profits allow $2,000 / $2,250 / $2,750 (ours). The page's own Withdrawable example ($4,000 → $2,000) does apply 50%. (i) The Futures comparison table says 'Every 4 days / Every 5 days', but the objectives examples show a day under the Qualifying Day threshold does not count, so a cycle can run longer than 4 or 5 trading days.

What this means for you: When FTMO's pages disagree, follow Trading Objectives and ask support before a large withdrawal.

Our arithmetic (not FTMO figures)

Figures marked ours rearrange FTMO's published numbers; they are not FTMO quotes. 110% of a $50,000 Instant account is $55,000; at that high FTMO's Instant Max Loss formula (highest closed balance or Initial Simulated Capital, minus 10% of Initial Simulated Capital) puts the limit at $50,000. FTMO does not say whether a partial Reward is safe above that line. Total profit needed if a Best Day stays the best day = Best Day ÷ 50% on 1-Step or ÷ 30% on Instant (FTMO's $6,000 best-day example needs $12,000 or $20,000). Reward estimate = closed profit × 80% or 90%. Futures max request = the smallest of (50% or 100%) × profit above initial capital, the per-request cap, and 2 × new profit this cycle (from the 50% new-profit rule). Profit needed for the full Growth cap under the 50% Withdrawable Amount is $5,000 / $6,000 / $8,000 at 50K / 100K / 150K. Under item (h), $4,000 / $4,500 / $5,500 of profit allow $2,000 / $2,250 / $2,750 at 50% (ours), not the $2,500 / $3,000 / $4,000 shown in the Payout Cap examples. Drawdown room left after a request is profit minus the request only once the floor has locked at initial capital; on Pro at the full cap that room is $0, which is why FTMO warns about a full withdrawal. Confirm every figure in Account MetriX or the Client Area calculator before you request.

FAQ

What is FTMO's profit split on each account type?

FTMO pays 90% of simulated profit on the 1-Step FTMO Account, the Instant Account and Futures Sim-Funded accounts. The 2-Step FTMO Account pays 80% by default and rises to 90% once the Scaling Plan or Premium Programme (Prime) conditions are met. (per ftmo.com, checked )

When can I request my first FTMO payout?

On a CFD FTMO Account you can claim a Reward on the 14th day or any later day after the first trade on that account, with all positions and pending orders closed. FTMO reviews the account within 1-2 business days and typically sends the Reward 1-2 business days after the invoice is approved. (per ftmo.com, checked )

How do FTMO Futures Sim-Funded payouts work on the 50K Growth and Pro accounts?

Growth pays after a cycle of 4 Qualifying Days with $150+ closed P&L, up to 50% of profit above initial capital and $2,500 per request; Pro needs 5 days of $200+ and pays up to 100% with a $5,000 cap. Both are 90/10 with a $20 minimum, and at least 50% of each request must be new profit from the current cycle. (per ftmo.com, checked )

Does FTMO refund the challenge fee?

Only the 2-Step FTMO Challenge fee is refunded, 100% of it, when you request your first Reward withdrawal, via the same payment method. The 1-Step and Instant Account fees are not refundable, and the Futures subscription is cancelled when you pass, with no activation fee. (per ftmo.com, checked )

Can I withdraw from an FTMO Instant Account without breaching Max Loss?

FTMO's Trading Objectives set an intraday, balance-based trailing Max Loss Limit of 10% of Initial Simulated Capital that does not reset when you withdraw a Reward. Once your balance exceeds 110% of Initial Simulated Capital, FTMO says a Reward withdrawal would breach the Limit. On a $50,000 Instant example the first-day limit is $45,000; after a $50,600 close the limit becomes $45,600 and stays there after a later $50,300 close. It is your responsibility to keep the withdrawal inside the Limit. FTMO does not publish a safe partial-Reward formula. (per ftmo.com, checked )
